A 25-year-old flight attendant from Jammu, working with a leading private airline, was found dead in her rented flat in Rajendranagar last week. The Rajendranagar police have registered a case of suicide and have started an investigation.
The deceased, identified as Janvi Gupta, had been living in Kenworth Apartments, a gated community near Aramghar X Roads, for the past six months. She lived in Hyderabad for almost five years and worked as an air hostess for 4-5 years.
According to the police, the incident came to light on the morning of October 24 when Jahnavi’s friends, who had stayed after a party the previous night, found her lifeless in her bedroom. “While her friends were sleeping in the hall, she went to her room where she ended her life. Her friends alerted her family who reached Hyderabad the same day and filed a complaint,” said a police official.
Investigations revealed that Jahnavi had reportedly been battling depression for the past few months, allegedly due to her father’s ill health. Police said she last spoke to her mother on Monday evening.
