One woman was killed and 20 others injured when a truck collided with an APSRTC bus near Owk in Nandyal district on Tuesday (October 28, 2025). The bus was going to Tadipatri from Banganapalle when it was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction. The deceased has been identified as Chakali Lakshmi Devi (55).
Collector Rajakumari Ganiya said the bus driver and other passengers were taken to Nandyal Government General Hospital for better treatment, while 14 others were treated at Owk Community Health Centre.
BC Roads and Buildings Minister Janardhan Reddy, who is in Mumbai on an official visit, questioned the district administration about the incident and asked them to provide better treatment to the injured. He asked the police and revenue officials to investigate the reasons that led to the incident.
