The BJP has strongly criticized the Congress-led Telangana government for infighting, lack of transparency and failure to fulfill key election promises. The party alleged that recent developments involving ministers Konda Surekha, Jupalla Krishna Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar reflected deep divisions within the cabinet, particularly over departmental control and alleged share allocations.
Speaking at a media conference at the state office on Friday, Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s interference in ministerial departments has led to discontent among senior ministers who are now openly questioning his authority. Disputes over the removal of traffic control posts and ACB raids without consultation with the ministry further strained relations, he accused.
There is a widespread belief among the people that government is driven by commissions, internal power struggles and personal gains rather than the public good. This has led to apprehension among industrialists and investors who are reportedly hesitant to engage with the state due to fears of corruption and instability, he claimed.
The Cabinet further failed to address critical issues such as fee reimbursement, job creation and social security schemes promised in the Congress manifesto. The lack of discussion on these matters during Cabinet meetings, despite growing public unrest, is nothing but a betrayal of people’s trust, Mr. Reddy alleged.
The BJP leader warned that if the Congress government continues to prioritize internal power dynamics over governance, the state will suffer long-term damage. He also questioned why the government did not take action against a minister on special duty if he resorted to crime and the tussle between the excise minister and his principal secretary. With three years left in the term, the BJP claimed that the Revanth-led administration had already lost public support and credibility.
