The district level golden jubilee celebration will be held on Monday, October 27 at 2 pm at the BR Ambedkar Stadium, Chamarajanagar to mark 50 years of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).
In a recent preparatory meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag, officials were instructed to make all necessary arrangements including stage arrangements, seating, uninterrupted power supply, deployment of fire and medical personnel and adequate security arrangements at the venue.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the officials to adopt appropriate traffic regulations, bandobus and crowd management in view of the expected high turnout.
Senior pourakarmikas serving in local bodies will be felicitated as part of the celebrations. A drawing competition on the theme of environmental protection for school children will be organized, with prizes and certificates awarded to the winners. Individuals and organizations contributing to environmental protection will also be honored on this occasion.
Additional Deputy Commissioner T. Javare Gowda reviewed the ongoing preparations on Thursday. Superintendent of Police BT Kavitha, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sneha Raju, District Environment Officer Savitha, District Hygienist S. Chidambara and other officials were present.
