Bryan Johnson, a well-known millionaire and anti-aging advocate, recently took to Instagram to highlight the addictive nature of fast food and the serious health problems it can lead to. Fast food chain McDonald’s has been criticized for its “100% beef patty”, calling it a “death machine”.
Titled “I Don’t Love It,” he began by pointing out the calorie intake in a Big Mac and breaking it down into the amount of sodium, saturated fat, added sugars and total carbs in it.
“First, it gives you an extreme spike in sugar and insulin. 90 minutes later, you’ll feel hungry and have more appetite,” he said, going on to claim that “McDonald’s boasts 100% pure beef patties, but 100% beef is not that simple. Beef that comes from factory-fed cattle, which means more omega-3 fat, has a different fat profile.”
He added: “Even the emulsifiers they use in the pickle will disrupt your microbiome, which can trigger chronic inflammation and disease. They’ve cleverly used science to create an addictive food.”
