Microsoft India CEO and President Rajiv Kumar highlighted the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI): “AI is a completely transformative technology and will touch every aspect of human life, including education, healthcare, agriculture and more. India is making effective use of AI and institutions have started implementing AI and quantum curriculum, which is a welcome gesture.”
Mr Kumar said that quantum technology will trigger the next big revolution after the transformation already brought about by AI.
Speaking to The Hindu during his visit to the NRI Institute of Technology (NRIIT) in Guntur on Friday, Mr. Kumar expressed optimism about the proposed Quantum Valley in Amaravati, noting that the initiative was progressing well and would soon take shape.
He said Microsoft continues to invest heavily in AI, cloud computing and data centers across India. Mr. Kumar credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision for bringing Microsoft to Hyderabad decades ago, adding that the same visionary leadership is now driving India’s quantum ambitions. “I recently met Mr. Naidu and heard his vision for Quantum Valley – it’s really inspiring. I’m glad to have a visionary leader like him leading this thought process of bringing quantum technology to India. I wish him all the best,” he said. He described the initiative as a long-term investment, adding: “You have to take small steps; it can take many years to solidify a vision.”
