Former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy received a notice under Section 35 (3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) from the police at the SV University Campus police station in Tirupati on Thursday.
On a complaint by TTD board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, a case was filed against the former TTD chairman under Sections 353 (dissemination of statement with intent to cause public mischief) and 299 (maliciously inflaming religious sentiments) of the BNS.
Later, at a press meet at the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district office in Padmavathipuram, Mr. Karunakar Reddy alleged that the coalition government was taking revenge by filing false cases against him for revealing the death of over 100 cows in TTD Goshala.
He further leveled several allegations against the current TTD Chairman BR Naidu. He showed a “confidential letter” to the chief executive to release funds for several under-construction TTD projects and asked how the chairman could seek money for contractors.
Talking about YSRCP’s alleged aides in TTD, Mr. Karunakar Reddy said, “I have nearly 4,700 TTD employees. If Mr. Naidu wants to suspend employees who support us, he must remove all permanent employees.”
