The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday jailed three Bengaluru police personnel, including a sub-inspector and two head constables, for allegedly accepting bribe from a complainant.
The accused have been identified as sub-inspector Anita and head constables Yatish Kumar and Ulvappa. They were reportedly traveling to Jaipur in connection with an investigation into a dowry harassment case registered in Bengaluru.
According to ACB officials, the cops allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹2,000 from the complainant in exchange for an extension of relief in the case. Following the complaint, the ACB verified the allegations and laid a trap at Hotel Gangaur in Jaipur.
The accused were caught red-handed while accepting ₹40,000 as part of the demanded bribe amount.
The operation was led by ACB Additional Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Chaudhary under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Om Prakash Meena. The action was taken on the instructions of CEO Govind Gupta and Additional CEO Smita Srivastava.
