The BJP is interpreting MLC Yatindra Siddaramaiah’s statement that his father is at the end of his political career and that minister Satish Jarkiholi was the right candidate to succeed him as a clear indication of the start of what it calls the “November Revolution”.
Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashok on Thursday claimed that Dr. Yatindra spoke at the behest of his father.
Asserting that a change in the chief ministerial post was bound to happen, he said it was in this context that the Congress had taken up the RSS issue to “distract public attention” from internal problems and administrative failures.
Mr. Ashok noted that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar was running to the temple to seek divine support for his candidature. “But Mr. Shivakumar seems to have lost his way now,” he remarked.
In such a politically uncertain environment, corruption has increased and all ministers have been given fundraising targets to fund the Congress poll campaign in Bihar, he claimed.
Meanwhile, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council, Priyank Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council, mocking the recent statements of Dr. Yatindry and son of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “While the government is trying to fill the potholes on the roads, the sons of two prominent leaders have dug potholes in the government.
