Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an official report on Thursday stating that a cyclonic upper air circulation is currently being observed over the South Andaman Sea and its adjoining areas extending up to the mid-tropospheric levels over the Southeast Bay of Bengal.
A low pressure area is expected to form over the southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal on 24 October 2025 under its influence.
As a result, widespread rain activity is expected over several parts of South India.
Today’s weather in Tamil Nadu:
Over Tamil Nadu probably on the 23rd-24th. and again from October 26 to 28 there will be heavy rainfall; over Lakshadweep on the 23rd; over Kerala and Mahé between 27–29 and over North Interior Karnataka from October 23 to 25.
Telangana Weather:
Telangana is expected to experience heavy rainfall from October 23-25 and again on October 29. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema are likely to experience heavy rain between October 24 and 26 and again on October 29.
Karnataka:
South inland Karnataka may experience heavy rainfall on October 24 and coastal Karnataka on October 25 and 26.

In addition, isolated heavy rainfall is likely to occur over south interior Karnataka on October 23; over Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema coasts on 23, 27 and 28 October; and over Kerala, Mahé and coastal Karnataka on 23 and 24 October.
Cyclone warning
There is a possibility of a cyclone developing over the southern Bay of Bengal. The weather agency said it is likely to move west-northwest and is expected to concentrate into a depression over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, off the coast of northern Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karajkal and southern Andhra Pradesh by this afternoon.
West Indies:
Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at many places with isolated heavy rainfall over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on 23rd & 24th; Gujarat Region and Saurashtra & Kutch on October 25 and 26, the IMD said.
