How to highlight text in videos with Adobe Premiere Pro, and more tips

Video editing can be a tricky space, and as a video editor, I’m sure you have to come across a time when you have to show some screenshots in the video and highlight when the anchor or host reads the sentence aloud they.

Sometimes, it is important for editors to focus on certain key phrases in the sentence that sometimes get lost in the anchor narrative. So, how do you make these parts stand out? By highlighting them like we did during our school and college days. However, please don’t apply on your monitor, we have a better way to do it with Premiere Pro.

Create masks around sentences

Make sure that the sentence is in the middle of the frame for better visibility

use Rectangle Tools Create masks around your sentences. Make sure the mask covers the entire sentence.
Now, go Effect control and open shape settings.
Here, open Fill in the tab and change the color of the fill. We recommend yellow because it tends to attract the most attention.
After you have done this, you can now Opacity Tab And change Mixed mode from Ordinary arrive take.
This will highlight the sentence and also make it stand out in other ways.

Add animation to highlighted graphics

The cropping tool will help you add animations to your graphics

go Effect And search Crops.
Add to Crop effect Go to the graphic layer you just created.
Now, go Effect control and change under the action of crops Correct value to 100.
Now click the stopwatch button that will create a keyframe.
Go to the last frame of the video, now, change Correct value to 0.
If you play the video, you will see the highlighted effect and get some animation.
To make the animation smoother, Right-click On the keyframe, then select easy.
