Uplifting the extremely poor into the mainstream is the main objective of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, Water Resources Minister Roshy Augustine has said.
Inaugurating the Vellappally bridge connecting Sea View and Powerhouse wards in Alappuzha municipality on Sunday, Mr. Augustine said the government was systematically working to identify those in need of land, housing, food and continued medical care and provide them with the necessary assistance. The minister said that Kerala would be able to achieve this target by November 1.
Built at a cost of ₹ 3 crore, the Vellappally bridge connects Sea View and Power House wards. Designed not to obstruct water traffic, the bridge has a carriageway width of 7.5 meters and a total length of 15.65 meters including sidewalks on both sides.
