Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy outlined his vision to transform Hyderabad into a global international destination, which will be anchored in the upcoming 40,000-acre Bharat Future City project.
During a courtesy call on Hindu Publication Group Chairperson Ms. Nirmala Lakshman at his residence in Hyderabad on Saturday, the Chief Minister discussed at length the future growth of Hyderabad, education reforms and cultural heritage of the state.
Mr. Reddy said that education plays a key role in shaping the society and emphasized the need to create a quality and inclusive learning environment. “Children should grow up in schools that reflect society, not segregated by caste but united in diversity,” he said. Young Indian integrated residential schools coming up in Telangana with the best facilities will be targeted for schools that will reflect social harmony rather than promote exclusion in the name of caste, he added.
Discussing the progress of the city, Mr. Reddy noted that Hyderabad has already carved a place among global cities and shared his dream of making it the sports hub of India. He said stalwarts like Kapil Dev and Bhaichung Bhutia were brought into the Sports Council to drive the creation of world sports infrastructure. His dream is to see Olympic champions emerge from the Telangana Sports University.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the establishment of Young India Skills University, one of his flagship initiatives to develop new-age professionals and prepare youth for the global workforce. He said industrialist Anand Mahindra, who chairs the university, is helping to drive its growth through innovative academic and industrial sectors.
On the cultural front, Mr. Reddy spoke about the preservation of Telangana’s unique tribal heritage, especially the Sammakka–Sarakka Jatara, Asia’s largest tribal festival. He explained that the government is taking steps to modernize the festival infrastructure while preserving its traditional essence.
The Chief Minister also suggested that Hindus consider publishing special edition books on Telangana temples, highlighting the spiritual and historical significance of shrines such as the Jogulamba Temple in Alampur, one of the 18 Shakti Peethas in India.
Mrs. Nirmala Lakshman handed over desk books on Tirumala, Chola Temples and other important temples to the Chief Minister, appreciating his vision of inclusive growth and cultural preservation.
