A thorough investigation into the suspicious death of auto driver K. Suresh, 36, in Karimnagar last month has led to the revelation of a murder allegedly committed by his wife along with five others, including her alleged lover, police said.
All the six accused in the murder case were arrested by the police in the twin-city Karimnagar on Thursday. The police identified the arrested as K. Maunika, 29, wife of the deceased driver, A. Srija, 32, P. Shivakrishna, 27, D. Ajay, 28, N. Sandhya, 39, and N. Devadas, 49, all residents of Karimnagar.
Police said that Maunika, who was in a relationship with Ajay, planned and carried out the murder of her husband Suresh to get rid of him. She allegedly tried in vain to kill Suresh by mixing Viagra and sleeping pills in her food. But the plot to kill her husband failed because the husband did not eat the food. In her second attempt, she allegedly strangled Suresh to death after giving him liquor mixed with BP and sleeping pills on September 17, 2025 with the help of her ‘paramour’ and other accomplices.
Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam lauded the Karimnagar Two Town Police for cracking the case of the car driver’s pre-planned murder.
