Former United Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday appealed to the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to wage a joint legal battle for equitable distribution of the waters of the Krishna and Godavari rivers.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Mr. Kiran Kumar said; “The stay of the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal on Krishna river water sharing is still valid. The Tribunal’s decision on Krishna water sharing will be a big loss for both the Telugu speaking states. Two states that should go to the center and fight a joint legal battle instead of an independent battle.”
He said, “The Telangana state government is urging the Center to review the Bachawat tribunal on Krishna river water sharing. Instead of going alone, the Telangana government should go together with the Andhra Pradesh state government.”
