The Indian cricket team arrived in Perth after a flight delay of several hours on 16 October. The team led by Shubman Gill, who entered the Delhi airport early in the morning on October 15, checked into their hotel in Perth around 4 am. Reports coming out of Australia suggested that the arrival delay was due to the Delhi flight taking off almost four hours after its scheduled departure.
The delay in Delhi also caused a rescheduling in Singapore, resulting in the Indian team arriving in Perth in the early hours of 16 October. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul were present when the first batch of Indian players arrived in Perth. India will take on Mitchell Marsh’s side in 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, with the series starting on October 19.

Indian cricket journalist Vimal Kumar reported that there was tight security at Perth airport and some fans were waiting outside the Indian team hotel to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. However, as it was quite late at night, the tired Indian players checked into their hotel rooms without taking too many pictures for the fans waiting outside the hotel.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be the main attractions when India take on Australia in the ODI series. India will play their ODIs in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney before going into T20 World Cup build-up mode.

India head coach Gautam Gambhir hoped that the two stalwarts – Rohit and Kohli – have a good series in Australia. Sharing encouraging news for the veterans as well, Shubman Gill hoped that both play with freedom without the burden of management.
