YouTube outage: Several YouTube users in the United States and Europe reported issues with the platform on Wednesday, October 15. “Issues” were found with video streaming and app operation.
“User reports indicate issues on the Playstation Network,” a Downdetector reporter said of the real-time outage issues. Over 6,000 PSN users have reported the YouTube outage issue to Downdetector. While 63 percent of users reported problems with video streaming, 16 percent of them blamed problems with apps. The remaining 6 percent pointed to difficulties with the website.
YouTube users reported interruptions to video playback, search and account access, while millions received error messages, blank screens and endless loading icons.
At 5:25 AM IST, a maximum of 7,365 outage issues were reported. At the time of writing, the outage appears to have subsided. However, social media started buzzing with their complaints as others flocked to find answers.
