A brainstorming meeting attended by senior officers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) was held in the coal town of Kothagudem on Wednesday on the future plan of the company.
The initiative is part of SCCL’s drive to shape a sustainable future for the state-owned coal company. It aims to get valuable suggestions from the former officers of the company for shaping the future of the company.
The interactive session was attended by the concerned directors and general managers of SCCL, among others. The retired officers gave suggestions to increase coal production, reduce production costs and diversify away from coal for long-term stability and survival, a SCCL press release said.
SCCL management has already received input from unions, employees and executives on the company’s strategic growth and long-term plans in pursuit of its future target of 100 million tonnes of annual production.
SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram said in a meeting through video conferencing that it is imperative to increase coal production and diversify into other sectors to withstand the growing competition in the coal sector and achieve the ambitious future annual coal production targets.
He asked retired officers of the company to share their ideas for the growth and sustainability of SCCL.
