Defense Minister Rajnath Singh approved a 100% increase in financial assistance to the former service and their dependent persons within various social systems, the Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday (October 15, 2025).
Social security schemes for veterans and their dependent persons are operated by the Ministry of Social Corps of former servants through the Kendriya Sainik Council.
The Ministry said that the penis grant was doubled from 4,000 to 8,000 GBP per month on the recipient, which provides a permanent life and pensioner of the former servants (ESM) and their widows over 65 years without regular income.
The educational grant was also increased from 1,000 to 2,000 GBP per month for up to two dependent children (class and graduation) or widows that follow a two -year postgraduate course, she said.
Financial assistance in the grant with marriage has been increased from 50,000 to 1.00,000 GBP per recipient.
This grant can be used for two ESM daughters and for a widow’s re -marriage. Assistance within the program will be a ceremonial for marriage after the order to increase the grant.
“Revised rates are valid for applications submitted from November 1, 2025, with an annual financial consequence of approximately 257 GBP Crore, which are to be met from the AFFDF Fund (FLAG Day Armed Forces),” the ministry said.

“The decision strengthens the social security network for ESM pensioners, widows and dependent people from lower income groups and reaffirms the government’s obligation to honor service and sacrifice of veterans,” the statement said.
The government has set up AFFDF for the well -being and rehabilitation of the community of former service workers. There are more than 32 Lakh ESM and approximately 60,000 is added every year due to pension.
