Before the Bihar elections, the Industry of the India (EC) Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday (October 14, 2025) ordered political parties to obtain preliminary advertising certification, and asked candidates to inform the survey body of their “authentic” social media accounts in filing nominations.
The elections will take place in two phases 6 and 11 November and then calculates voices 14 November.

On Tuesday, EC said she issued orders on October 9, which required every registered and national political party and every candidate for a competition that he asked for a preliminary certification of all political commercials on electronic media, including social media.
The statement stated that MCMC was established at the level of districts and the State for preliminary certification of political ads according to prescribed instructions and no political advertising should be published on the Internet media or websites, including social media websites, political parties or candidates without pre -certification from the MCMC.
MCMCS maintains strict vigil in suspicion of paid messages in the media and takes appropriate steps.
The vote panel said the mass SMS-ES and sound messages during the 48-hour “silence” that begins before the vote is closed.
“Furthermore, given the penetration of social media in the election environment, candidates were also instructed to share details of their authentic social media accounts at the time of nomination,” he said.
Political parties should also submit a statement of expenditure spent on the Internet campaign, including social media websites, within 75 days of completion of the elections. Among other things, these expenditures include payments made to websites and websites for transmitting ads, as well as expenditure related to the development of content and operational expenditure to maintain their social media accounts.
