The 27 -year -old woman killed her twins before ending her life in her Balanagar residence in the early morning Tuesday (October 14, 2025).
The deceased, identified as Challari Sailakshmi, was the mother of two -year -old twins, Chetana Karthikey and Lasyata Valli.
According to the police, the incident was reported around 4 am on Tuesday when her husband Anil Kumar was gone at work.
“Chetan had a speech disability and the family took him to regularly sit speech therapistics. Between Sailakshmi and her husband, disagreements about the condition of the child appeared and the family had frequent quarrels,” explained Balanagar Inspector T. Narsimha Raju.
The preliminary examination revealed that Sailakshmi struck the twins before jumping from the fourth floor (terrace) of her apartment. Police Balanagar, alerted by neighbors, threw itself into the place and moved the bodies to the Gandh hospital to postmort.
After complaints of women’s parents, the case was booked and Kumar was taken into custody. Another investigation is underway.
