Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the release of all Israeli hostages by the Palestinian militant group Hamas under the peace plan of US President Donald Trump.
“We welcome the release of all hostages after more than two years of captivity,” PM Modi published on Monday on the X.
He added: “Their freedom stands as a tribute to the courage of their families, the unwavering peace efforts of President Trump and the strong determination of Prime Minister Netanyahu.”
“We support President Trump’s sincere effort to bring peace to the region,” PM Modi said.
An Israeli plan of a ceasefire
Up to 20 hostages were released on Monday as part of an agreement on the end of the war, which began on October 7, 2023. The bodies of the remaining 28 dead hostages should also be handed over under the agreement, although the exact timing remained unclear.
Israel and Hamas are in the early stages of the first phase of Trump.
The first phase of the ceasefire agreement requires the release of the final hostages organized by Hamas; the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel; an increase in humanitarian aid in Gaza; and partial pullback of Israeli forces from the capitals of Gaza.
“The war was over, ok?” Trump told reporters traveling with him on board Air Force One. “I think people are tired of it,” he said, stressing that he believed that a ceasefire would be held because of it.
However, the ceasefire remains weak and the parties disagree on the post -war gazette administration, the reconstruction of the territory and the requirement of Israel that Hamas disarms.
Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi will lead the summit in Sharm El-Sheikh with leaders from more than 20 countries by peace in Gaza and the wider Middle East.
When did the war of Israel start in Gaza?
The war began when the Militants started Hamas’s leadership surprising attack on South Israel 7 October 2023, which was killed by about 1,200 people, mostly civilians and 251 hostages.
According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, more than 67,000 Palestinians were killed in Israel, which is distinguished between civilians and warriors, but saying that about half of the dead were a woman and children.
The Ministry is part of the government of Run’s Hamas and the UN, and many independent experts consider its data to be the most reliable estimate of war victims.
Tolls are expected to grow because the bodies are pulled out of the debris previously caused by inaccessible struggle.
