Jharkhand Operationals 43 Border Control Points that limit the illegal movement of cash, liqueur to Bihar
As the neighboring Bihar prepares for elections to the Assembly, Jharkhand made an operational 43 checkpoints, including nine new, in his 10 districts of border sharing to limit the illegal movement of cash, liqueurs, narcotics and other smuggled items.
This step comes in response to the formal request of Bihar, which is preparing for the two -phase elections scheduled for next month.
On the basis of a Bihar request for the establishment of checkpoints at strategic locations in the border districts, a total of 43 checkpoints happened in 10 districts sharing borders with the neighboring state, police spokesman Jharkhand and the General Operation of the Inspector (IG Operation) Michael Raj said PTI.
The checkpoints are functional continuously.
“In addition to the existing 34, we introduced nine new checkpoints. There are currently 43 active checkpoints spread out in all 10 districts bordering Bihar,” said Raj.
The district is Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, HazaribAgh, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda and Sahibganj.
According to the police, the increased vigilance will be maintained until the end of the second phase of Bihar elections scheduled for November 11.
“All checkpoints are jointly operated by security staff, municipalities and video teams to ensure transparency and enforcement of law,” the official added. – pti
