On Sunday, Congress accused Narendra Modi of the systematic weakening of the law on the right to information (RTI), saying that the law was focused because it allowed citizens to control the claims of the Prime Minister.
The party marked the 20th anniversary of the law and stated that for the party of Bharatiya Janata (BJP) it means “the right to intimidate”.
The President of the MALLIKARJUN KHARGE Congress, in a contribution to the Social Media Platform, said that the doctrine is now prevailing “without available data” because the government “blatantly” holds information on escape from responsibility. “Since 2014, more than 100 RTI activists have been murdered and the climate of terror has been released, punishing the candidate and disagree,” Kharge said.
When Jairam Ramesh joined on October 12, 2005, she joined the press conference later on the day to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the law, which was adopted on October 12, 2005, according to the government united by the united progressive alliance.
Mr. Ramesh stated five key reasons why RTI was systematically undermined. “The first was the order of the main information commissioner, who ordered the publication of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in” the whole political science “under the RTI,” he said.
The second example, he added, was when the answers of RTI refuted the claims of the Prime Minister that there were “CRORES false ration cards” in the country.
Ramesh said that RTI applications also revealed government demands on demonization that limited black money or counterfeit currencies. “The RTI request revealed that only four hours before the demonization of the Prime Minister Modi, the Central Council of the Indian Reserve Bank, came to the conclusion that demonization would not help to limit black money or false currency,” he said.

He added that the publication of the RTI caused the government of “more embarrassment”, including the unveiling that the Indian reserve bank has already sent to the Prime Minister’s office List 20 of the best deliberate invalid non -swimmers in the country. “Through RTI it was revealed that no black money was returned from abroad, as Prime Minister Modi promised before the 2014 general elections,” Ramesh said.
Mr. Ramesh said that the first main morning of the law came up with an amendment from July 2019, which removed the key provisions that were included on the recommendation of the Parliamentary Permanent Committee, which had former President of RAM Nath Kovind, then Rajya Sabha.
The leader of Congress said that on 17 December 2019 he questioned RTI changes in 2019 at the Supreme Court, but regretted that the matter remained waiting for almost six years.
Mr. Ramesh also warned that the Act on the Protection of Digital Personal Data, if performed in its current form, would prove to be a “final deadly button” for the RTI. “Section 44 (3) of the Act says that no personal data will be accessible within the RTI,” he said.
