Cousin Singer Zateen Garg, Assam Police DSP Sandipan Garg, was arrested on Wednesday 8 October in connection with the singer in Singapore last month, the higher officer said. Its arrest brings the total number of people held in the case of five.
The main court judge in the district of Kamrup Metropolitan district advanced to DSP for seven days of police links, after which the effect was immediately suspended from service.
The special investigation team within the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) examines Assam’s police until the singer’s death.
The summons were issued to 10 persons associated with the Assam Association Singapore after they did not get before the investigation agency.
Meanwhile, the personal security officers of the Zateen Garg were (PSOS_ also suspended after huge financial transactions have been found on their accounts.
CID Special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta said, “We arrested Sandipana Garg. We are now completing the necessary legal formalities.”
The police also verify that the permission was to travel to Singapore.
“The department also verifies whether it has taken a proper permission to travel to Singapore. According to the rule of service, the civil servant cannot travel abroad without proper government permission,” he said.
If it is released from judicial custody in a period of suspension, “Shri Sandipan Garg, APS, if it is released from judicial custody, will be the Police headquarters of Assam, Ulbari, Guwahati, subject to review, if necessary.”
Who is Sandipan Garg?
Sandipan Garg worked as a chief director in Kamrup. Sandipan has been interrogated several times since the death of Zateen Garg.
So far, Sandipan was reportedly present with the yacht singer when she died while swimming in the sea.
The main organizer of the festival in northeastern India Shyamkan Mahanta, singer Siddharth Sharma and his two band members – Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amrit Prabha Mahanta were detained. Now they are in police custody.
