Karwa Chauth Puja Muhurat will take 1 hour 14 minutes, which will start at 17:57 and will end 10:11 October 10.
Like many Hindu festivals, Karwa Chauth is based on a lunar calendar and falls on the fourth day (Chaturthi Tithi).
Karwa Chauth 2025: Moonrise Timings
In Delhi and Noida, the moon is expected to rise at 20:13. In Chandigar, Pandjab, Jammu and Ludhiana, the Moon is expected a little earlier, between 20:08 and 20:11.
Meanwhile, in Calcutta, the moon will rise around 19:41 and in Lucknow and Prayagraj is expected Moonrise at 20:02.
Karwa Chauuth: meaning
Karwa Chauth Day is also known as Karak Chaturthi. Karwa or Karak refers to a clay pot through which water is made for the moon, known as Argha. Karwa is very significant during the Puja and is also given as Dan Brahmin or any fit woman.
This year several couples of celebrities, including Koli and Vrishank Khanal, Neera Chopra and Himani Mor, will celebrate their first Karwa Chauth.
At Karwa Chauth, married women worship Lord Shiva and his families, including Lord Ganesh, and break fast after observation and offer for the Moon. Fasting Karwa Chauth is strict and observed without taking any food or even a drop of water after sunrise at night.
