
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived at the International Airport of Chhatrapati Shivaji Mahara in Mumbai. Starmer was received by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, representative of CMS EKNATH Shinde and Ajit Pawar and Governor Maharashtra Acharya Devvrat.
At the invitation of the Prime Minister Narendry Modi is Sir Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on a two -day visit to India. This is the first official visit to Prime Minister Starmer in India.

Starmer will talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modim and in the next two days to participate in several trade -related stores.
“The visit will build on the dynamics and substance generated by Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Great Britain from 23-24 July 2025. It will provide a valuable opportunity to re-confirm the shared vision of India and the United Kingdom to build a partnership,” the Ministry of external affairs informed about the visit.
Starmer’s visit assumes importance because it comes at the time of the uncertainty of global trade, mainly because of the politicians of the Donald Trump administration in the US.
1st day: Visiting Yash Raj, football match
The first day of the visit will be largely donated to the United Kingdom.
PM Starmer is expected to visit Yash Raj Films Studios today as part of their efforts to cooperate between the film industry of both countries.
The British Prime Minister is also scheduled to participate in a football show organized by the English Premier League at Coopeage Football Ground. The event will be attended by former English football player Michael Owen.
Day 2- India-UK Complex Strategic Partnership
The second day Prime Minister Modi and PM Starmer will evaluate progress in various aspects of a comprehensive strategic partnership in India-UK in accordance with “vision 2035”, focused and time-bound ten-year plan and initiatives on key pillars of trade and investment, technology and innovation, defense and safety, climate and energy, health and people.
Starmer is accompanied by more than 100-silly delegations of CEO, university vice-rector and cultural chiefs with a mission to strengthen trade, technology and investment.

Both leaders will participate in businesses and executives in the fields of opportunities submitted by India – UK by a comprehensive economic and business agreement (CETA), which, according to a government statement, will serve as the central pillar of the future economic partnership in India – UK. They also exchange opinions on questions of regional and global importance and participate in experts in the field, creators of politicians and innovators.
Both leaders will deal with Indian and British business leaders to “turbofarge” trade in both countries, to increase two -way investments, and emphasize the bilateral relationship of the industry.
Trade £ 44.1 billion
The latest British Ministry of Business and Trade (DBT), which was published last month, indicates that the total trade in goods and services between India and the United Kingdom reached 44.1 billion GBPs in four quarters to March 2025, which represents an increase of 10.1%in the previous period.
The free trade agreement (FTA), officially known as CETA, is expected to significantly strengthen these data by removing tariffs to more than 90 % of the British goods. The aim is at least twice the trade by 2030 as soon as the Ratification process in the UK has been completed next year.

Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Starmer will also participate in the 6th edition of the Global Fintech Fest at the Jio World Center in Mumbai and deliver the main addresses on this occasion.
