Governor Kerala Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar emphasized the importance of education as a tool for social transformation, and not just about which to ensure employment.
ARLEKAR, which serves as Chancellor of the University, focused on the third ceremonial convening at the digital university of Keral (DUK) here on Monday (October 6, 2025). “You’ll be tried according to what you do for society,” he said.
He added: “The purpose of education requires recalibration. Is a title that is just looking for a job or simply enjoying life?
He praised Duk’s achievements and described it as the pride of the state and called it among the best in the country. He quoted an example of his possession in Goa and talked about the advantages of digitization.
“When the Legislative Assembly in Goa was without paper, several trees were saved from chopped (as a result of reform). Digitization not only increases efficiency, but also protects our environment,” he said.
“Become a Donor of Labor”
The governor also encouraged students to become employers rather than job seekers and to accept the risk as a way to prosperity. “Indian youth often seeks guaranteed poverty instead of risky prosperity. Risk, innovate and lead,” he said.
With reference to the vision of the Prime Minister Viksit Bharat 2047, Mr Alekar expressed confidence that the youth will play a crucial role in the transformation of India into a developed nation of its centenary of independence.
Among those who participated in the ceremony of convening were the chairman of the Governor Council Vijay Chandra, Vice President of foreign Thomas and former diplomat TP Sreenivasan.
