The Premier League (LPL) is ready to mark an important milestone with the inclusion of Indian crickets for the first time in its sixth edition, starting with December 1. This development is expected to bring a new dimension to the competition because LPL continues its commitment to developing players and competing cricket.
The tournament will contain a total of 24 games, of which 20 league theater games and 4 knockout accessories. The matches are scheduled for three main places in Sri Lanka: R. Stadium R. Premadas in Colombo, Palllelele International Stadium in Kandy and Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
“For the first time, Indian crickets are expected to join the event. Their names will soon be revealed and add a completely new level of excitement for fans throughout the region,” the press release said.
The league scene will include five franchises, each of which plays twice against each other team. At the end of the league phase, the first four teams will qualify for Play -off, keep the tournament competitive and provide teams for more opportunities to advance.
The Play -Off structure includes a 1 qualification where the two best teams face a direct place in the final. The third and fourth placement of the teams competitions for eliminator and the winner then plays the loser 1 in qualifying 2.
LPL has established itself as a breeding ground for young crickets, with the format and exposition of the league regularly reveals a new talent. The organizers expect this trend to continue with the hope that they will get more developing players during the upcoming season.
“The timing of this edition has been carefully selected to ensure that players get maximum exposures and high quality practice in leadership for the global cricket year,” said Samantha Dodanwela, director of the tournament, LPL.
“During the seasons, LPL appeared as a breeding ground for fresh talent, with several young brands together with international stars.
