At the end of the 80s. A group of young people in Thiruvananthapuram accidentally watched the video of the annual Grammy Awards. Among them were several who began to learn different musical instruments. The ceremony of the Glitza Awards in honor of the musicians lit the idea and created a band. Within a few days, “Gypsies”, a Rock-Pop band that would remain active in the music scene in the capital in the next decade. Now, more than twenty -five years after dissolving, the band members meet from different parts of the world to take the concert to Zyopilly Samskithi Bhavan. which were introduced in 1989 in Doordarshan.

The band, which mostly used envelopes with a mixture of several original songs, also consisted of the main guitarist Ravi Kumar, keyboardist Shiju Kurien, drummer Nazar and singer Luke Varghes. The path of the Gypsies ended as well as the journey of many others, while some members were moving outside the state and the country for their work. “Now that we all age, we thought we should have a meeting for old times. At a time when most of the bands did not survive after a few years, we have managed to be for more than ten years. It’s something worth celebrating,” says Martin.
