Police detained 12 people in connection with Friday’s incident to throw stone in Belagavi.
The incident occurred during the UR MEHBOOB Subhani Durgah in the Old Town on Friday evening.
Some residents of ShaniWiWi Khoot and Yalgar Galli protested against the change of procession and shouted the slogan “I love Mohammad”.
After replacing words, the stones were thrown towards the procession.
Police Commissioner Baras Bhushan Gulabrao, Narayan Baramani Vice -President and other officers visited a place.
A complaint was registered at the market police station.
The names of 50 people were listed. Up to 12 people were detained for interrogation, the officers said.
