Public mining and energy company NLC India has emerged as the preferred bidder for the vanadium, titanium and aluminum laterite block in Telangana.
“NLC India Limited is declared as the preferred bidder for the Parvathapur Vanadium, Titanium and Aluminous Laterite block of Sanga Reddy, Telangana following the e-auction of critical and strategic mineral blocks held on June 11 by the Ministry of Mines,” the company said in a filing on Friday (Jun 12, 2026).
The announcement comes just after NLC signed an MoU with CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI), Karaikudi, to promote cooperation in mining and extraction of critical and strategic minerals. Under the MoU, detailed studies of overburden materials and tailings generated from NLC’s Neyveli mines will be undertaken to assess the potential for extraction and recovery of rare earth elements (REEs) and other trace elements.
In a June 11 memorandum of understanding, NLC said the collaboration will also explore similar opportunities in the company’s other mining and exploration projects to develop sustainable and economically viable secondary resource recovery technologies.
