In the middle of the violent riots in Pakistan occupied by Kashmir (POK) Congress on Saturday (October 4, 2025) that POK was an integral part of India and kills the “policy of harassment and oppression” that is practiced in this region.
With interviews with reporters in Anantnag in South Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Karra said that the sympathy of the whole country is with people POK.
“Parliament has already lost a resolution that POK is part of India, and our sympathy, sympathy of the whole country, are with them. People are treated in a non -democratic way. Congress is against the policy of harassment and oppression that is practiced there.
At least 10 people were killed and much injured in clashes between protesters and security forces in POK in the last few days. The protesters demand fundamental rights, justice and the end of what they have described as a systemic oppression.
On the next question, Mr. Karra said that the party has always supported the cause of Palestine. “Indira Gandhi was a person who fought for the Palestinian thing. We provided full support to the people of Palestine and we will continue,” he said.
He asked the wife of activist Ladakh Sonam Wanghuk, who moved the Supreme Court against his detention under the National Security Act, and the chief JKPCC said that Wanchuk was the victim of “thinking” of my way “of my journey or highway.
“Everyone has the right to approach any forum. The congress party stand is clear. It is the same Wangchuk that BJP introduced as a nationalist at the time of the cancellation of articles 370 and 35-A. He described himself as anti-national.
Congress’s leader said the party would cause the problem of J&K restoration in the upcoming meeting of the J&K assembly.
