A special court for testing cases concerning sexual violence and atrocities against women and children on Friday in February 2024 sentenced a middle -aged man to a life prison for the kidnapping and rape of a two -year -old child of migrating merchants in Thiruvananthapurama.
The judge of the next meeting of Shibu found the suspect, Hassankutty aka Kabeer, guilty of violating the provisions of the protection of children from sexual offenses (PESO), including a crime. The judge set a quantum of punishment, some of which run in parallel after 67 years of strict imprisonment. He also slapped a fine of 72,000 GBP on Hassankutty.
Mr. Shibu said that the convicted lawsuit was that he was the only provider of his aging and sick mother. “Nevertheless, the convict is not entitled to any indulgence,” he said. The judge emphasized the seriousness of the crime, the unfortunate of the victim, and the fear that caused a crime in society.
The court described Janosh’s “unwavering determination, exceptional courage and a strong sense of duty” in a one -time monitoring of a missing child in a remote undergrowth inhabited by poisonous snakes, wild animals and stray dogs. “Mr. Janosh’s actions exceeded his normal duty and reflected the highest standards of the police services,” he said.
From Andhra Pradesh
The crime occurred on the night of 19 February 2024. The family from Andhra Pradesh arrived in the city in the Hawks of Trinkets and toys to motorists at traffic junctions.
The family, along with other members of their itinerant commercial community, bivoured in the makeshift plastic tents at night, which was built on the road near the Brahmos complex, adjacent to the All Saints College at the Pettah police station.
According to the police, the child condemned the child from their sleeping parents. The family panicked when they found out that the child had disappeared and hurried to the police Pettah for help. The police started a massive search.

They looked at the shots of the supervisory cameras in the neighborhood, which showed granular night images of an irritated person who left the place with the child in the curtain.
The search ended in the morning of February 20, when Mr. Janosh found that the child had left near the wooded place adjacent to the Brahmos area. The video analysis helped the police to determine the suspect.
The police subjected a child a medical examination and obtained the accused of her hair. Other biological evidence obtained from the victim’s body and the dress corresponded to DNA of the accused person, the police told a special court.
Forensic experts supported the testimony of the prosecution and submitted the results of tests from national accredited forensic laboratories. The prosecution explored 41 witnesses and submitted 11 objects as significant evidence.
The court recorded its recognition to the investigating official, the inspector of the circle of K. Sreejith and the special prosecutor JK Ajith Prasad.
