The Rajasthan police arrested the former National Security Command (NSG) for allegedly being the king of the Pašerácké cannabis missile.
Ex-NSG Commando Bajrang Singh took part in the 26/11 counter-terrorism operation in Mumbai.
Police Inspector Vikas Kumar said Bajrang Singh was arrested late on Wednesday evening from Ratangarh in Chur.
‘Caught 200 kg ganja’
The police said Bajrang Singh was reportedly involved in smuggling “Ganja” from Telangana and Odisha to Rajasthan and was caught 200 kg of psychoactive substances.
Bajrang Singh, the alleged “drug king”, belonged to the district of Rajasthan Sikar and carried a reward £25 000, the police said.
‘Operation Gainjaney’
The General Police Inspector Vikas Kumar added that the State Antiterorist Group (ATS) and the Anti-Antf) successfully performed the “Gaanjaney Operation”, which led to Singh’s arrest.
The ATS and Antf teams watched their movements for almost two months.
Despite his attempts to avoid arrests, the use of fake mobile IDs and hide in distant villages, technical intelligence and ground informants, he helped him trace Chur.
“This operation was the result of weeks of planning and sharing intelligence information. The arrest of a hardened worker such as Bajrang is an important success in neutralizing neutralization concerning terrorist narcotics in Rajasthan,” IgP said.
Who is Bajrang Singh?
Officials said PTI that Bajrang left his studies on class 10 and joined the border security forces (BSF), where he served briefly before release.
Later Singh served seven years as a commando NSG.
It was part of the network during operation against terrorization in 2008 in the case of a serial explosion in Mumbai, known as a terrorist attack 26/11.
In 2021 IGP Kumar said that Singho’s political ambitions also manifested itself when he tried to push his wife to attack local elections.
However, the attempt failed. But that gave him exposure to the local circles and strengthened his influence.
The police said Singh also established context with the criminal elements in Odisha and Rajasthan and tried to use his villages to other narcotics and terrorist activities.
