A few passengers via Bengalur at night claimed the “invasive” police control on Reddit and quickly gained attention, some of which pointed out that such invasion of privacy in the city became “very normal” and others who strengthened cops for what they described as “harassment”.
IN Contribution On R/Bangalore, Sub-Reddit with more than a million members, the couple described their suffering while traveling from JP Nagar via Uber around 2 hours.
The couple stopped by police officers on the police barricade on the highway and thought they were exposed to a routine control of the late night, which soon became “unpleasant”.
A 27 -year -old man who published a place claimed that his 33 -year -old partner was asked to get off and submit to Friska with a full body. When he tried to get off and intervene, the cops stopped him and instead made him open the bag on the laptop.
They checked “each individual pocket, even hidden troops,” wrote a 27 -year -old man, adding that the cops “even took my wallet from the bag and opened it without asking.”
“The whole thing felt invasive,” the man explained, asking, “Is it normal in Bengalur?”
The post quickly gained over 121 comments, and many redditors describe their own experience with the police Bengaluru.
“Yes, it’s very normal,” one redditor wrote, adding, “They could also check your phone and look for weeds, pornography and demanded 20-30k if something was found. I will be afraid of the police than to face thieves to be honest. (Sic) (sic) (sic) (sic) (sic) (sic) (sic) (sic) (sic) (sic) “(sic) (sic) (sic)” (sic).
“… the police are a real gundas from Bangalore. Any opportunity they get will try to torture you first and then blackmail money near Lakh .. (sic),” he wrote.
Many of them pointed out that these types of “invasive” inspections were carried out to extract money.
“Unfortunately, it is common. They are looking for drugs, plus anything else they can use to make quick earnings. Actually, you are lucky to have just gone through bags and wallets. I have heard of many messages where they also check your phone and go through all your private pictures and cottages (SIC).”
Others recommended people who met such controls that they did not get out of their cars and instead called the centralized police line (112) and told the operators that officers were trying to go through personal belongings without order.
“Place the road and the area and, if possible, indicate the vehicle number or wheels. All calls go to the central checkpoint. Ask them to send Hoysal to deal with this problem. The phone out of hand.”
