What is the case against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty?
The case concerned comes from a complaint filed by entrepreneur Deepak Kothari, who claimed that between 2015 and 2023, 60 GBP crore “> Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra made him invest him £60 Crore in their now defunct business, Best Deal TV PVT LTD and later diverted funds for personal use.
While Kundra has already been questioned by the wing of economic crimes in Mumbai (EOW), Shetty must still be summoned. Loc was issued against them at the request of EOW.
What was the reason for the couple?
In his petition, the couple claimed that Shetty resigned to the company in 2016 and that they both had to travel abroad for professional obligations. They told them that they deny this opportunity to violate their fundamental rights.
“Applicants have the fundamental right to business and/or the profession and denial of such opportunities (travel abroad) would mean violation of their fundamental rights,” the petition said.
Between October 2025 and January 2026, they were looking for a suspension of LOC to allow them to travel overseas, PTI reported.
