“The police closed the probe until last year’s alleged stone attack on the nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) (NCP (SP)) leader and former Interior Minister Maharashtra Deshmukh and declared the False case through” B Summary “filed in court,” officials said on Wednesday.
However, Mr. Dehmukh claimed that the police were under pressure and the incident was political color.
The police were supposed to present a “summary” report because they could not find the culprits, the former Minister of the Interior added.
The “Summary B” report is the final report given by the police in criminal cases where the investigation does not prove any evidence or Prima facie against the accused or that the complaint was false or frivolous. The “Summary” report is given for real but undetected cases.
Nagpur rural police submitted a “B Summary” report in Catholic court last week after forensic findings and questions did not support the claims filed for an alleged attack, the officials said.
The police also asked the complainant’s prosecution in this case, the official said.
Mr. Deshmukhu Ujjwal Bhoyar’s personal assistant filed a complaint and claimed that a stone attack on the leader of NCP (SP).
The alleged incident was reported on November 18, 2024, when Mr. Dehmukh returned to Catholic from the election meeting of the Narched Village district in Nagpur.
It was claimed that four unidentified persons deposited stones at his car near Catholic. One stone said to hit him on his head, causing bleeding injuries, and in the vehicle it was said to be found fragments of glass.
At that time, Anil Deshmukh led the campaign for his son Salil Deshmukha, who attacked the elections of the State Assembly from the Catholic constituency on the NCP (SP) ticket.
However, the regional forensic scientific laboratory (RFSL) rejected the theory of stone attack after a detailed examination, the police official said. Experts noted that the reinforced glass of the car could not be interrupted by a single intervention, Anil Deshmukhov’s blunt injury did not agree on injuries, and official injuries did not agree on injuries.
Importantly, no glass pieces were found in the wound.
The police also checked the CCTV and the nearby areas, but found no evidence of attackers or eyewitnesses. With the forensic report and the absence of the police, the police concluded that the accusation was false, a higher police officer said.
Anil Deshmukh, however, at a press conference in Nagpur claimed that the police were under pressure and the incident got a political color from the beginning to catch the culprits.
He claimed that he was injured during a stone attack as he traveled the day before the election assembly. The former Minister claimed that the forensic report also said that an unidentified person threw heavy large stone and another person threw a small stone into his car, which made his glass windows broke and got a head injury from the glass pieces.
He argued that BJP Parinay Fuke’s leader said the incident was a false and the police supervisor at that time issued a statement before the investigation was completed.
The main Minister Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis also “described the incident as the” story of Salim-Majava “,” added the leader NCP (SP).
He said the police were to carry out a proper investigation and arrested both people (who allegedly threw stones). But without performing these procedures, the police submitted a “B summary” report, he claimed.
They were supposed to present a “summary” report because the accused were not found by the police, said Anil Deshmukh.
“Therefore, we will take a suitable step based on the forensic report that came out,” he said.
In 2021, the leader of the NCP (SP) was arrested by the Directorate for Recognition of the Law in the event of money washing and in 2022 a bail.
