The head of the Pakistani cricket board Mohsin Naqvi refused to pass the Asia Cup trophy to India. Instead, the head of the PCB, which also oversees the Asian cricket council, ordered the captain of India Suryakumara Yadava to inform the Pakistani media on Tuesday, on Tuesday, to personally gather the ACC trophy.
Chaos followed in the final of the Asia Cup on Sunday after Mohsin naqvi-LED ACC escaped with trophies and medals Asia Cup. The Indian cricket team, which defeated the Pakistani fair and the square, remained standing for more than an hour and waited for the stage.
The Indian team said they would not use the Mohsin Naqvi trophy in the middle of the problematic geopolitical relationship in India with Pakistan and ask the trophy to be handed over to the Emirates cricket council.
However, Naqvi denied the request and remained firmly on his attitude that India would have to receive a trophy from him. Crazy scenes followed when one of the ACC officials was seen when the trophy was taken off the ground when the Indian team waited for it to get to the stage.
Later on the same night, the Indian secretary of the cricket board of Devyit Saikia killed Naqvi for her actions.
“We decided not to take the Asia Cup 2025 trophy by ACC, who became one of Pakistan leaders. This was a conscious decision,” Saikia said.
“This does not give him the right to take a trophy and medals with him. It’s extremely unfortunate and unsportsmanlike. We hope the trophy and medals will be returned to India as soon as possible,” he said.
Mohsin Naqvi rejects the demand of BCCI: Message
On Tuesday, two days after the final of the Asian Cup, the Pakistanian media announced that Mohsin Naqvi rejected the repeated demand of BCCI Rajeev Shukl to hand over the trophy of Asia Cup 2025 and claim that silver should be collected by Indian captain personally.
The matter appeared during the routine meeting of ACC in Dubai, which was chaired by Naqvi, where Shukla repeatedly pushed to hand over the trophy. Naqvi, however, replied that the problem was not part of the agenda of the meeting. After another insistence, he noted that if the Indian team wanted a trophy, his captain should personally visit the ACC office to receive it.
Pakistani media channel Geo Super said that no decision was taken as to whether the trophy would be handed over to the Indian party.
According to sources close to the regional cricket bodies, BCCi officials – who took part in the meeting practically – responded sharply to the attitude of Naqvi and instead demanded that the trophy be transferred to the headquarters of the International Criket Council (ICC).
