Nationwide data on the final list were expected. The design of the election role contained 7.24 Crore voters after approximately 65 names of the Lakhů were removed as “absence”, “shift” or “dead”.
However, the Patna District Administration issued a statement that the total number of voters in 14 segments in the district was about 48.15 Lakhs, representing an “increase of 1,63 lakh” compared to the proposal of electoral roles published on August 1.
Given that the election election assembly is likely to be announced soon, the massive SIR exercise that the election committee plans nationwide has caused controversy. Opposition parties, some of which have turned to the Supreme Court, claim that Sir is aimed at unauthorized deletion of voters who are less likely to support the ruling NDA led by BJP. On the other hand, the leader of the BJP, including the Minister of the Interior of the Union AMIT Shah, insisted that Sir is essential for the removal of “infiltrators” by which the Indian block is allegedly trying to protect and issue voting rights.
The holding of the 243-member assembly of Bihar closes November 22.
