The annual brahmotsavam in Tirumale developed on Monday with grandeur and attracted tens of thousands of devoted day of sacred rituals and live processions.
The celebrations started in the morning with Hanumantha Vahana Seva, during which Lord MalayAppa Swama, decorated with Lord Rama, was carried majestically on Hanuman along the Mad Hill Temple. This spectacle, symbolizing the inseparable bond between the frame and its most important devotee Hanuman, has triggered the Vedantic ideals of devotion, surrender and the unity of the guru and the pupil. The streets came to life when the devotees were affected by witnesses of the procession and were looking for a blessing in the middle of the atmosphere accused of spiritual enthusiasm.
In the afternoon, special rituals were made inside the sanctuary, such as Vasanthotsavam and Asthanam, adding to daily celebrations.
When dusk descended, the temple city glittered with a dazzling parade of a golden car. Lord MalayAppa, lined with his divine consorts, was taken around the streets on a bright car and offered a visual feast to pilgrims. Govindy’s rhythmic singing filled the air when the majestic car rolled in the middle of the scenes of devotion and jubilation.
The daily festivities ended with a parade of Gaja Vahanam at night, followed by special Yagasala rituals in the temple district.
