Cabinet Secretary Dr. TV Somanathan on Friday (June 12, 2026) reviewed the readiness for the NEET examination in a meeting with the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
“The central government, state governments and district administration are working closely together to ensure the smooth conduct of the NEET examination. The full force and weight of the law will fall on any person who in any way attempts to disrupt, disrupt or disrupt the integrity or smooth conduct of the examination,” Mr. Somanathan said in a statement.
The re-examination of NEET is scheduled on 21 June 2026.
During the review, the Cabinet Secretary also emphasized the need to ensure a smooth, transparent and secure conduct of the review through close coordination between all stakeholders.
Mr. Somanathan reviewed the arrangements with the Secretaries of the Central Government and relevant agencies on 1 June 2026. Subsequently, he also held a review meeting with the Chief Secretaries of the State Governments on 4 June to assess the readiness and progress of the arrangements.
These meetings are aimed at ensuring effective coordination, enhancing preparedness and maintaining the integrity and credibility of the NEET examination process.
NEET-UG was held on May 3 but was canceled by NTA on May 12 due to allegations of paper leakage. The CBI is investigating the case and has made several arrests.
