The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday (September 28, 2025) issued a warning of increased rainfall intensity in several Maharahtry districts between Saturday (September 27, 2025) and Tuesday (September 30, 2025).

In accordance with this, in some places in Konkan, the middle mahara and marathwada, large rain and heavy rainfall are expected. The State Emergency Operational Center (EOC) reported that due to heavy rains in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and the Sindhudurg districts, there is a possibility of urban floods and that citizens should remain on standby.
EOC also gave instructions to all district administrations with regard to potential heavy rainfall. “There is a possibility of small and main landslides in the Ghat areas and lightning floods may occur. Continuous monitoring of streams and necessary measures should be taken,” EOC said.
EOC asked the district administration to maintain the control rooms 24×7.
“Water pumps should be deployed in low -lying urban areas. Similarly, low -laid regions should be monitored and the necessary measures should be taken for dangerous and old CSSR.
“Water storage and release of medium dams in Konan and the upper river basins should be regularly reviewed. Reports of timely disasters should be distributed through SMS, social media and local media with regard to possible heavy rainfall,” EOC ordered and asked citizens to remain anxiety.
They also asked people to follow official instructions, avoiding dangerous areas, avoiding regions susceptible to floods, and stood under the trees during lightning.
“Take all basic measures to protect against floods. Use local safety shelters during flood extraordinary events. Avoid unnecessary travel during flood conditions. Do not attempt to cross the road when water flows across bridges on rivers or streams and do not believe in rumors.” “
