The unannounced flood was caused by a heavy rain in the Osmansagar River Basin and the Himayatsagar reservoirs. The 738,15 km flood area in Osmansagar is spread over Bulkapur, Shankarpally, Chandippa, Mominpet, Dhobipet, Chandanagar and Ananthagiri. Himayathsagar has a much Vinter basin of 1308 km. Km, which is spread over Venkatapur, Sultanpally, Parigi, Shamshabad and Vicrabad. On Friday, Mominpet recorded 15 cm rainfall, Shabad 11.8 cm, Moinabad 11.6 cm and Bantware 11.2 cm.
