The High Court in Kerala sought instructions from central and state governments to set up special courts of narcotic and psychotropic substances (NDP) in Kerala to hear cases related to narcotics.
The court listened to a dose of petitions, including a native of Ernacula Sumi Joseph, the mother of two school children, looking for effective measures of the state government to reduce the use of narcotics.
Under the NDPS Act, the state government is entitled to create special courts for the court with crimes under the law.
