On Friday (September 26, 2025), Congress condemned Ladakhi’s detention of Sonama Wangchu’s activist and demanded the court probe to kill four youth during agitation to the statehood in Ladak, which became violent.
In the paper on X, General Secretary of the Jairam Ramesh, he claimed that Mr. Wangchuk’s detainment, the “well -known ecologist and educator”, under the National Security Act, was “devoted to the attention and responsibility from the abyss BJP from the BJP failure in maintaining law and ordering life and property in Ladakh.” He added: “The problem of the problem is that BJP has deceived the inhabitants of Ladak for years. He promised the sixth state of the region in the elections to the easy Hill council and entered the revenge.”
“He claimed that it gave Ladakh’s autonomy from larger Jamm and Kashmir, but indeed ended all the appearance of democracy in the Union. Modi government cannot renew these problems or suppress them by arresting Mr. Wangchuk.
‘Sunda Police Fire’
In another post, Mr. Ramesh said that Nawang Rigzin Jora, president of the Ladakh congress unit, wrote on Wednesday (September 24, 2025) Governor Union of Ladakh Kavinder Gupt.
Protests for statehood became violent in the city on Wednesday, so four people were dead and 90 other injured. In connection with the violence that broke out during the shutdown by the LEPEX (Laboratory) body, about 50 people were detained to require an extension of the sixth schedule and statehood for Ladakh.
“I approach you with a heavy heart and deep grief to demand a court investigation of an unfortunate incident on September 24th, leading to the death of four young men and injuries to others in police fire,” former Minister Jora said in a letter addressed to Governor.
Blame
“While we condemn the violence that has resorted to the protesters, we also condemn hard and repressive measures, including the protesting shooting that was carried out.
He also denied the government’s claim that Congress helped stimulate violence. “There are plenty of guilt. Some of them focus on the councilor of the congress on the crowd on the basis of alleged photography. Nothing can be from the truth. We are calling for administration in this number,” said Mr. Jora.
