KM Shajahan, YouTuber, who was arrested for complaints of the leader of CPI (M) KJ Shine, who claimed to be gossiping through videos on social media, was released on bail on Friday (September 26, 2025).
The main court judge Ernakulam released Mr. Shajahan on bail of 25,000 GBP. He was ordered to cooperate with the police investigation and delay in committing similar crimes.
John S. Ralph, an advisor to Mr. Shajahan, claimed that there was no reason to question the accused. He also claimed that the slap of section 67a of the Act on Information Technology against the accused was unauthorized because there was no publication or transmission of material containing sexually explicit acts in electronic form, as defined by law.
The special investigation team arrested Mr. Shajahan from his residence Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday (September 25, 2025). After the complaint, the police also filed cases against the leader of the local CK CK Gopalakrishnan.
