KPTCL Managing Director and Dharwad district in-charge secretary Ram Prasath Manohar V directed officials to give high priority to village development along with urban development.
Addressing a meeting to review the progress of Karnataka Development Programs (KDP) in Dharwad on June 11, he chaired a meeting that real development lies in village development and work should be done to facilitate comprehensive development of every village in the district.
Senior officials from various departments briefed the meeting on the progress of individual projects.
Mr. Ram Prasath told them to give priority to quality in the execution of work and for the officials to discharge their duties responsibly.
“VB-G RAM Gi scheme will be introduced from July 1 in place of the earlier MGNREGA scheme. Necessary steps should be taken to implement the new scheme. Officials should personally visit villages and take initiative to check the progress of works. PDOs should supervise the work done in gram panchayats,” he said.
Mr. Ram Prasath told the officials to ensure that the farmers do not have any complaints. “Government schemes should be made available to eligible beneficiaries. The authorities concerned should take steps to ensure clean drinking water, quality food and good education to students in the hostels. Creating a clean environment in the hostels should be a priority,” he said.
Stressing the need to take preventive steps to avoid electrical accidents during the rainy season, he told HESCOM officials to ensure immediate replacement of weak or damaged electric poles and take steps to ensure regular power supply in rural areas.
