Bengaluru, often criticized by its inhabitants for the deteriorating civic infrastructure, finally records a certain urgency by the state government. September 24, the Chief Secretary of Karnataka Shalini Rajneesh announced a comprehensive 90 -day program aimed at solving potholes, cleaning garbage, completion of stopped projects, metro and improvement of overall road infrastructure.
The plan also represents the possibility of overloading on the outer circular road (ORR), one of the busiest and most popular courses of the city. Blueprint was shared during a high -level meeting in Vishan Juděh, chaired by Mrs. Rajneesh. The meeting was attended by higher officials of the urban development department, Greater Bengaluruority (GBA), along with industrialists, such as founder Biocon Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and co-founder Yulu Bike RK Misra.
After the meeting of Mrs. Mazumdar-Shaw, she welcomed the government’s decision, but emphasized the importance of public cooperation. “We have exceeded the 90 -day strategy covering road work, waste disposal and wastewater management. While the administration promised that citizens must also perform their role. In the next three months we hope to repair visible improvements such as science such as developments that have been completed,” White.
RK Misra, also a civic activist, said in October he would ensure that all the main city roads were motor, including sections that require fresh revival. In November, the reflector will move to the engagement of citizens through the campaign “My Street, My Responsibility” to support the proper segregation of waste and report violations. December will bring the connection of companies, especially along the ORR, which use almost 25 lakh IT experts daily.
Overload prices
Mr Misra proposed measures such as the price of overload to the orr. “The possible model is that if the car enters the Orr, it is possible to automatically deduct a fee via fastag. Vehicles carrying two or more passengers would be exempt. This is a regulation of demand, as well as creating infrastructure.
In order to improve liability in civil work, Mr. Misra also revealed that a new application for monitoring contracts would soon monitor projects from public procurement to payment. “Suppliers will not receive payments unless they provide updates to progress. This focus on deadlines, quality and transparency should bring measurable results,” he said.
Acceleration of metro work
The head of the government official who took part in the meeting said that the discussion also focused on accelerating the work on the Outer Ring Road, known as the blue line of the Namma Metro. This line, which stretches from the central silk plate to Kr Puram, is expected to significantly reduce the operation to the ORR as soon as it is functional. “We examined the details of the Blue Line project and agreed to speed up its completion. The line will block the operation on this section and will also help thousands of commuting working along the Orr section,” the clerk said.
He also said that the meeting also affected stricter quality controls for road projects and proposals for increasing the connection between IT Parks, which could alleviate everyday commuting for employees.
