Sankar Foundation performs 176 eye surgeries per day

Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital in Naiduthota achieved a milestone by performing 176 eye surgeries in a single day on June 10, recording the highest ever number of surgeries in a day.

According to K. Bangar Raju, Deputy General Manager (PR, Liaison and Corporate Relations), the surgeries were carried out by teams of doctors, OR staff, medical staff, field staff, NTR Vaidya Seva staff and Arogya Mitras.

The operations included 116 procedures as part of the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva, 19 paid phaco surgeries, 16 corneal surgeries and 21 retinal surgeries and procedures. Other operations were performed in the areas of the orbit, pediatric ophthalmology, glaucoma and other specialties.

Chairman M. Ramdas congratulated the doctors and support staff for the success. At a function held on Thursday, Chief Administrator and Managing Director A. Krishna Kumar thanked the doctors and staff in recognition of their efforts. Priority departments, operators, medical staff and field teams participated in the program.
